Fleet insurance

Motor Fleet Insurance

Fleet insurance advice for cars, vans and mixed commercial vehicle fleets across the UK.

Start with the exposure

Understand the exposure before comparing terms.

Fleet pricing and terms depend on far more than vehicle count. Driver controls, use, geography, claims trends, vehicle mix and risk management all influence the presentation to insurers.

OAK VIEW

We look for the story behind the claims data and the controls that can improve the risk.

Cover to consider

Built from the risk outwards.

Availability and scope depend on insurer acceptance and the terms offered for your business.

01

Comprehensive or third-party cover

Cover levels can be arranged across eligible vehicles and drivers, subject to insurer appetite and policy terms.

02

Own goods and business use

The description of vehicle use needs to match actual operations, journeys and any carriage of goods.

03

Windscreen, recovery and additional benefits

Benefits vary between insurers and should be compared alongside excesses, driver restrictions and claims service.

04

Risk management

Driver checks, telematics, incident procedures and claims analysis can support a stronger fleet presentation.

Practical buying guidance

A complete vehicle and driver record makes renewal clearer

Insurers need more than the number of vehicles. Explain vehicle types, ownership, values, business use, mileage, overnight locations and who drives them. Delivery, carriage of customers or specialist operations may require different consideration from ordinary business travel.

Request current claims experience in good time and explain trends, open claims and the controls introduced after incidents. Driver checks, training, maintenance and telematics can provide useful context, but they do not guarantee a particular price or insurer acceptance.

Compare the drivers allowed by the policy, vehicle limits and the process for additions and deletions. An insurance certificate does not remove the need to keep the schedule and any required motor-insurance records accurate.

Compare the wording, not just the premium

Compare excesses, driver conditions, replacement-vehicle provisions, territorial use and claims service. A lower premium may come with higher retained costs or narrower driver acceptance.
